Its in the bag!!!

Okay so I took the purse challenge...I like to think of myself as being pretty organized so, here goes! The contents of my purse:

wallet, keys, cell phone, lotion, hand sanitizer, vaseline, eye drops, two mints containers...one has mints the other has change in it, a pad (just in case!), four aa batteries, a lipstick (that I never use), a sunglasses case, sunblock, more loose change, birthday candles (just in case!), reciepts, a bracelet charm, a bag of licorice, tylenol flu, and a celexa (dont ask!)

Its no wonder I can never find anything when I need it!!!

What we've been up to lately....

Well, its not really that interesting but, its our life!! All of last week we spent long fun filled days at moms house. We canned pickles, zucchini relish, jalapeno jelly, and a zucchini/summer squash marinara sauce! I love canning. It is so gratifying! When you cook a normal dinner it is gone in minutes and your left with dishes to do. But, when you can food, you get to look at it on the shelf for a long time!! its so pretty too! Its even better when you get to eat it knowing that you did this yourself for your family. Its pretty special. We also spent some time making pioneer clothes for the Far West Store. Mom is amazing with a sewing machine!! I am just happy to be there=)

On Sunday morning, when everyone was getting ready for church, Isaac was crying and laying on the couch...when he was asked what was wrong he said that his neck hurt so bad that he couldn't raise his arms or turn his head! (he and Sam were rough housing the night before and he hit the back of his head on the coffee table) So, of course we were worried about him and let him stay home from church to rest. Poor guy! Well, as soon as Erinn and the kids were gone, he sat up and was just fine! Happy, busy, playing! He is sooo busted!!! Well, he of course got grounded from his favorite thing(gameboy) and with any luck he will never do that again! =) We all had a good time at Sarah's birthday dinner...Happy Birthday Sarah!

On Monday, Erinn had to go to a big union meeting where Harley Davidson made a new contract offer and the workers had to vote on whether or not to accept the offer. The vote was 411 to accept and 417 to reject! So, then they had to vote whether or not to strike...They needed 65% to strike and they got 63% So, they automatically accept the offer!! Erinn thinks the contract should have been way better than it is. But, he and I are both grateful that he is still working and not on Strike!! This has been way too stressful for us!!!

Tuesday morning I got to go horseback rinding with my friend Bridget. She took me out to our friends the Anderson's. They have property next to the Pony Express reserve, and we rode out there for a few hours. It was so much fun!! I wish I had a personal photographer to follow me around (my kids have one!=)) Well, that is why there are no pics!! I love horses!!! and thanks so much to Sasha for watching my kids! Later Tuesday evening, we played softball, the baptists beat us again!! But, this time the game was close! They pulled two runs out in the last inning to win the game! It was fun!! Well, I guess that's it for now...We have been doing things...just normal life I guess!

At the movies...

Yup! Sarah and I are crazy!! We took our kids to the movie theatre to see Flicka. The Hollywood theatre and K-Jo are having a Canned-Film festival. (You get to see the movie for a can of food.) The kids had a great time. You might not be able to see them all but they are all there...Sam, Jared, Isaac, Noah, Annie, Hannah, Katie, Ella, Sarah, and Jenna!! oh, and me! It went surprisingly well. Not that impressed with the movie (its not awful, just not great) oh well, I am a tough customer. ;) It was a good time!!

Family Sports

Last night as I was putting dinner on the table we got a phone call, it was our softball team asking of we wanted to play this year. We said yes, of course, so they said okay, our first game is in 45 minutes! So, Erinn and I hurried the kids through dinner and went to our first game of church softball. It was so much fun! I play catcher and Erinn can play anywhere...this game he played left field. We did so great...they had to stop the game because we met the run limit! 15-0!! Erinn had some amazing catches, and I finally made it all the way around to score the last run of the game! Our kids loved watching us play too, so that makes it even better.

I also got the results of the boys swim meet on Saturday. I have to say of all the sports my children have been involved in this has really been worth the money! They have gained a skill that they will use throughout their entire lives. On the first day of practice neither one of them could make it across the pool, let alone do a stroke correctly. But now, not only do they do strokes but they have been consistently improving their times! I am so glad that we did this! On Saturday Sam came in third in both of his relays, fourth in his back stroke, and sixth in his freestyle. He has taken his freestyle time from 37.3 seconds to 30.7 seconds, and his backstroke from 59.5 seconds to 41.75! Noah came in third in his relay and sixth in his back stroke. He has improved his freestyle time from 42.2 to 31.3 seconds, and his back stroke went from 1:58.8 to an amazing 49.2 seconds! I am so proud of these boys. They are working so hard and improving so much! I can hardly wait for the rest of my kids to join. We love sports!!

Happy Independence Day! I know, I'm a week late, sorry! We have had a wonderfully exhausting week! Wednesday we had Swedish pancakes at Sarah's for breakfast, which were delicious! We then spent the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying each other: the kids played in the baby pool, colored with sidewalk chalk, played with the dog, and Erinn grilled for dinner! It was a lovely, quiet, day! We waited and waited, then around 9:30 we walked to the high school for the city of Cameron fireworks show. It was wonderful. We got great seats and were able to see the ground show as well. We were excited when Josh, Amanda, Annie, Katie and Kenny came to sit with us. It was really fun. Thursday morning Erinn and his dad went for a long hot day of golfing. (Yes, he got a lovely sunburn!) The kids and I went over to Sarah's house for a fun day of family reunion play. It was so great to see everyone again. It's really amazing how we can just pick up where we left off and have such a great time together. Our little girls especially enjoyed Logan. He has gotten so big and he is so cute! We had a wonderful picnic lunch, and spent most of the day just catching up and laughing. That same evening we went to the Cameron pool for a pool party..I think everyone had a blast. I was happy to see that everyone got to swim and I couldn't tell whether the kids or the adults were having more fun!!! My kids loved the water slide and even Jenna couldn't get enough! It was great! Friday we spent the day getting ready for the wedding reception. It was really hot! The reception turned out beautifully and we all had a great time. The girls dresses were beautiful, the cake was beautiful,(and it tasted good!) the bride and groom were lovely and smiling, the decorations were amazing and the music was booming! My kids especially enjoyed the fireworks display and catching the parachutes. Hannah is a dancing queen along with her cousins! They had so much fun! Saturday morning Erinn took the two oldest boys to their swim meet, where they both did a great job. I will let you know where they placed when I find out! The rest of the kids and I went back to Sarah's for the big football game and more socializing. Isaac got to play football with the guys and had a ball! It meant a lot to him to be included. He had so much fun! The girls just played and played. That evening we went to the Royals game...I was so relieved when they won. It was a great game full of suspense and errors! It was fun. And HOT!!! Afterwards we went to Applebees for dessert and more laughs. All in all I would say this has been a wonderfully exhausting week!!! I can hardly wait until the next reunion!
