Fall Leaves
They raked the leaves into a huge pile (several piles actually)...they then proceeded to jump into their piles and bury each other. They were having so much fun.
Of course, Jenna must always be decked out in her princess attire...with tap shoes. (It really wasn't cold that day) They played for hours...
Happy Fall! It is a beautiful time of year! I just adore these little kiddos.

Thankful Thursday

Here goes:
- I am thankful that the election is over and the sheer volume of political ads will at the very least go way down. (I wish to never see another one.) Ever.
- I am thankful for the vacuum repair man.
- I am thankful that my mom taught me how to sew and run a household...and take care of all kinds of other things around the house.
- My Kids...they make me laugh, they help around the house, they entertain me and each other.
- The Mid-Continent Library...I have read three more books this week, and could never afford to buy them all. I love to read.
- The Gospel and my testimony
- the eye doctor (we were told on Tuesday that Isaac is color blind and needs glasses. So far, he is only the second of our five kids to need glasses and he has already learned to cope VERY well with his color blindness...we would have never known.) that being said...
- I am thankful for our vision insurance.
- and my husband who just keeps going to work.
- I LOVE RAIN and GREY weather...it is so peaceful. (I also love my heater and my electric blanket!!!)

I Voted!
I am happy to say that I made my freedom count and voted on Tuesday. How long my "freedom" will last is yet to be determined. I must agree with Hillary and say that we ought to be kinder to this president than our opponents were to President George W. Bush. We are better Americans than that! RIGHT???That being said, I feel that we are in for tough times...the future is very uncertain, and all I can say is bring on the millennium baby. Constitution hanging by a thread...? Almost there.
Here are a few quotes that my friend Sasha posted on her blog (its private):
"Enlightened statesmen will not always be at the helm." James Madison, Federalist No. 10, November 23, 1787
"Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism." George Washington, Farewell Address, September 19, 1796
"But a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever." John Adams, letter to Abigail Adams, July 17, 1775
"Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide." John Adams, letter to John Taylor, April 15, 1814
"We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." John Adams, Address to the Military, October 11, 1798
"That government is best which governs the least, so taught the courageous founders of this nation. This simple declaration is diametrically opposed to the all too common philosophy that the government should protect and support one from the cradle to the grave. The policy of the Founding Fathers has made our people and our nation strong. The opposite leads inevitably to moral decay."
Ezra Taft Benson (1899 - 1994)
Source: at BYU, February 28,1962
"In the 1940s while serving as the executive officer of the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives in Washington, D.C., I saw in a Hilton Hotel a placard depicting Uncle Sam, representing America, on his knees in humility and prayer. Beneath the placard was the inscription, "Not beaten there by the hammer and sickle, but freely, responsibly, confidently. . . . We need fear nothing or no one save God." That picture has stayed in my memory ever since; America on her knees in recognition that all our blessings come from God! America on her knees out of a desire to serve the God of this land by keeping his commandments! America on her knees, not driven there in capitulation to some despotic government, but on her knees freely, willingly, gratefully! This is the sovereign remedy to all of our problems and the preservation of our liberties."
Ezra Taft Benson (1899 - 1994)
Source: Ensign, November 1976,
Ether 2:9 "And now we can behold the decrees of God concerning this land of promise; and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall serve God, or they shall be swept off when the fullness of his wrath shall come upon them. And the fullness of his wrath cometh upon them when they are ripened in iniquity. For behold, this is a land which is choice above all other lands; wherefore he that doth possess it shall serve God or shall be swept off; for it is the everlasting decree of God...Behold this is a choice land and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall be free from bondage, and captivity, and from all other nations under heaven, if they will but serve the God of the land , who is Jesus Christ...
God Bless America!!!

Its Time!!!
We had Hannah-a witch,
Jenna-a princess,
Isaac-a skeleton,
Sam-the grim reaper,
and Noah-a zombie.
I think their costumes are sort of telling of their personalities...j/k. :)
I also have to cross off one of those things that I swore I'd never do as a parent! You know when you see other peoples kids and you tell yourself...I will never let my kids do that!!!
We spent the rest of the night in Hamilton at mom and dads house. We ate some yummy chili and snacked on all the junk food our stomachs could handle. The treats we made were so cute. The weather was perfect, and the trick or treating was great! I know the kids had a blast. Oh Happy Day!
Trick or treating at our neighbors house! They adore our kids and had special treat bags made for them. They are so sweet. Happy Halloween.!!!
